Grade I Saratoga Track Record Holder, Imperial Hint, Euthanized

Imperial Hint

“It is with great sadness that we announce that after a lengthy struggle with laminitis it became necessary to euthanize Imperial Hint,” Clear Creek Stud, LLC in Folsom, Louisiana announced.

A multiple Grade I winner of $2,209,055, Imperial Hint captured eleven stakes races and was stakes placed in another five.

At 6, Imperial Hint set a new track record in the 2019 Vosburgh Stakes (GI) running six furlongs in 1:07.92;  a record which still stands today for six furlongs at Saratoga Race Track. This was Imperial Hint’s second consecutive victory in the Vosburgh Stakes, having won the previous year’s contest.

Imperial Hint also won the Grade I Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap at Saratoga Race Track at both 5 and 6, defeating Champion Sprinter, Mitole in the 2020 running of that event.

Imperial Hint was by Imperialism out of the Lahint mare, Royal Hint. He stood his entire stud career at Clear Creek Stud, in Folsom, Louisiana.

In his first crop he sired stakes winner TDZ Hint of Power and stakes placed Sweet Morgan Leigh. A popular sprinter, Imperial Hint was bred to both Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses.
