LTBA Breeders Sales of Louisiana 2025 Yearling Sale Results

The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association’s Breeders Sales of Louisiana held its 2025 Yearling Sale followed by Mixed Session, Sunday, October 12th at the Louisiana Equine Sales and Event Center in Opelousas.

120 yearlings were cataloged with 16 outs. 81 yearlings sold for a gross of $816,700, and an average of $10,100. The median was $4,000. There were 23 RNAs.

34 horses were catalogued in the mixed sale. 19 sold including 14 mares, 1 horse of racing age and 4 weanlings. There were 3 RNAs. 12 were withdrawn. The mixed sale total was  $64,700 with an average of $3,405, and a median of $2,900.

The gross for the overall sale was $881,400.

The sale topper was Hip 31, a full sister to 2025 Grade 2 Stakes Winner Smoken Wicked.  The bay filly by Bobby’s Wicked One out of Street Smoke was purchased by Marc Winston for $47,000 from the Clear Creek Stud consignment.

The second highest price for the day was $44,000 for Hip 22, a bay filly by Lookin At Lucky out of Solo Buena. Also out of the Clear Creek Stud consignment, the filly was purchased by Sandeep Patel
